printing an oven knob that actually fits

One of the oven knobs cracked along the shaft hole. Official replacement only comes as a set of four and ships in "3-5 weeks". Fine, I'll print one.

calipers

It's a normal D-shaft. Measured 6.0 mm on the round side and 4.6 mm across the flat. My calipers give a slightly different number every time so I measured five times and averaged.

Printed only the hub (about 8 mm tall) to test the fit, way faster than printing the whole knob each time:

6.00 mm - doesn't go on
6.30 mm - loose, spins on the flat
6.15 mm - good push fit
printer

Used PETG with 100% infill around the hub since it gets warm near the oven. Months later it hasn't deformed. Wouldn't do this for anything right above a burner though.
