spool holder v2 (v1 sagged)

tags: 3d printing

v1 was a single printed arm coming out of the wall. With a full 1 kg spool on it, it slowly bent down, and after a week the spool was rubbing the wall and feeding at an angle.

Two mistakes. I printed the arm lying flat, so the load was pulling the layers apart. And it was just a cantilever with nothing supporting it from below.

v2:

No sag so far. Spool spins way more freely too. Lesson: think about layer direction before thinking about infill %.
